About Teresa Beeman

Teresa Beeman has been a small-business owner and entrepreneur for over 20 years. Starting her career as an in-house paralegal, she branched out to form her own research and writing service. Her client list has included law firms of every size, from solo practitioners to offices with over one hundred attorneys on staff.

Teresa is asuccessful entrepreneur who offers her services to help inspire other would-be entrepreneurs to follow their dreams of owning their own businesses. Her “Eleven Point Strategy to Becoming a Successful Business Owner” outlines the steps that must be taken in order to achieve success in starting a business.

Known throughout the internet as the “Shoestring Business Coach”, Teresa has helped countless small-business owners start and run their own successful companies, and has offered helpful hints on her BlogTalk Radio Show. Her attention is now focused on helping people achieve a lifestyle they can enjoy from anywhere with her new blog, Portable Success, which will be launching in November, 2010.

She feels it is crucial to encourage young adults to focus their attention on their business futures, and offers her speaking services to high school and colleges as a way to inspire the students to become more business-minded. Concerned that today’s youth, particularly young ladies, are not realizing the impact today’s global economy may have on their financial future, Teresa has created a new project called Young Woman Entrepreneur.

With her granddaughter, Vanna, as the face of this new project, Teresa will be offering services to young women who recognize the need to take control of their financial and business futures. She offers combined services for mother-daughter teams who want to create their places in the business community. Her love of the written word has inspired Teresa to spend much of her time writing.  Her essays have won numerous awards.

Most recently she has collaborated with her husband, Roger, to write Shadows of Our Former Selves – One Couple’s Experience With the Weight-Loss Process, which will be available in the Spring of 2011. The book chronicles the steps Roger took to shed over 175 pounds, as well as Teresa’s own weight-loss story.

Teresa is a native of Asheville, North Carolina, where she and her husband live. Her two sons and one grandson live minutes away. Her household was completed in February, 2010 by the addition of Mischa the Maltese . Mischa is working on creating her own blog, which will be up and running  in a few days.

When she is not working on her speaking, writing and coaching endeavors, Teresa’s other interests include real estate and stock market investing.
