Success Through Inspiration
While it can be fun and very rewarding, being in business can sometimes also be daunting. Just like any other project we undertake, sometimes we run out of ideas and wonder what we are going to do next.
Our fountain of originality has dried up, and are pretty sure that no one has ever been through a dry spell like this before. Unfortunately, inspiration doesn’t come in a can.
Here are some quotes that may give you inspiration:
- * Those who wish to sing, always find a song – Swedish Proverb
- * Thoughts lead on to purposes; purposes go forth in action; actions form habits; habits decide character; and character fixes our destiny – Tyrone Edwards
- * To be prepared is half the victory” – Miguel Cerevantes
- * Once we accept our limits, we go beyond them – Albert Einstein
Rather than focusing on what you can’t get done; trying focusing on your positive attributes. Write down your answers to these questions:
- What makes you unique?
- In how many ways are you unique?
- How can you show those ways?
- Do you give more than necessary? If so, in what ways. If not, why not?
- Can you describe what you do in 25 words or less?
- Do I have a convincing (less than 2 minutes) “elevator speech”? Do people believe what you tell them?
- What do you guarantee? Is that guarantee convincing to prospective clients?
- Do people know, like and trust you?
- Do you focus on the needs of your clients and/or customers? How do you do that?
By using this list, you can get a clearer picture of what you can do to work on how the business world sees you. This type of activity will usually spawn new ideas – possibly in areas you never even considered before.
Most of all, it will help you to have a clearer picture of why you are so successful. By having it written down on a paper, you can see where your strengths are, and you will know what to build on. But if you don’t have definite answers to each of the questions above, working to more clearly define those will serve to show you where you need to work on improvement.
